Pearl is the first original character that Alberto made for his original comic series. Pearl is a 20-year-old girl born in Mexico who has grown up in Connecticut her whole life. She identifies as a lesbian and never got the chance to truly explore herself until college, where she met a group of friends who relate and support her many thoughts and insecurities.

This was the first piece of art that Alberto made in 2020. He wanted a simple reference that he can come back to whenever he wanted to redraw Pearl and use her base colors. This also acted as an icon for Alberto’s social media for some time. He had recently acquired an Intuos drawing tablet and drew something simple as a sort of warm-up/testing the waters.
